ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

Friends of the Pasco County Library System is a not-for-profit organization of people who share a belief that a strong public library is essential for a thriving community. They work together to enrich the resources of the Library for the benefit of all Pasco citizens through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy efforts.

Friends make many of the cultural, art, music, storytime, summer reading, and technology programs of the Pasco Library System possible by providing funding not met through traditional County support.

The Friends organization fosters public interest in the Library. Strong grassroots support of our public library is essential for continued county, state, and federal funding.

Becoming a Friend Of The Library is your best way to show that the public library is important to you, your family and your community.

The Friends of the Pasco County Library System organization is a member of the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF).

The Friends of the Library administer many of the monetary and materials donations received by the Library. The policy for Donations is available here.

A Book Tribute is a fitting expression of joyfulness that can mark a birthday or anniversary, salute a retiring club officer, or thank a special someone for being your friend.

A Book Memorial is a fitting expression of sympathy and a lasting tribute that honors a persons life.

A Bookplate will be placed in the book with the name of the person in whose honor or memory the book is given and also the name of the donor(s). A Letter will be sent to the donor(s) acknowledging the gift and to the honoree or the family of the deceased.

A Book Tribute or a Book Memorial can be initiated by printing and completing the Gifts & Donations Form. Return the form to a Library staff member, along with your check made payable to Friends of the PCLS, Inc., or mail the form and your check to the address below.

An annual membership to the Friends of the Library is available as follows:

• Individual $10.00
• Family $15.00
• Book Donor $25.00
• Partner or Business $1000.00

Donations are accepted in any amount.

To join the Friends of the Pasco County Library System, ask for a membership form at your local branch library or complete the membership form, print it and mail it with your check (made payable to Friends of the Pasco County Library System, Inc.) to:
