Interlibrary Loan Update:
Due to lack of funding, Florida's Division of Library and Information Services is ending shipping support for interlibrary loan service (materials borrowed from libraries outside our library system). As a result, all ILL requests are temporarily suspended while we work to find a solution to continue offering this service to our patrons. Books currently checked out through interlibrary loan may be returned by their regular due dates. We appreciate your patience and continued support.
FAQs:
Why is the interlibrary loan service being suspended?
The Florida Division of Library and Information Services is ending the Florida Library Delivery Service as of October 1, 2025. Without this shipping support, Pasco Libraries, along with many other libraries across the state, must find alternative shipping and funding solutions to continue offering this service.
Is this suspension permanent? When will interlibrary loan return?
We are actively exploring alternative solutions to continue providing interlibrary loan services in the future. We will share updates as soon as more information is available.
What happens if I already have an interlibrary loan book checked out?
You can return it by the regular due date listed on your account. No additional steps are needed.
Can I still request books from other Pasco County library branches?
Yes! This change only affects interlibrary loans (materials borrowed from libraries outside our library system). You can still place holds and transfer materials between Pasco County branches.
