What is a Haiku?
A Haiku is a Japanese poem with 17 syllables in 3 lines. It follows the 5+7+5 rule:
- Line 1: 5 syllables
- Line 2: 7 syllables
- Line 3: 5 syllables
Haikus do not need to rhyme.

How do I submit a Haiku?
You can submit a haiku through the online form below or through a physical form at any PCLS branch. Submissions will be accepted in-person and online from April 1, 2023 - April 30, 2023.

Guidelines
- Participants must be residents of Pasco County.
- Your entry must be your original work and in the form of a Haiku.
- Your entry must be unpublished, either in print or online.
- Entries can be submitted from April 1 – April 30, 2023.
- Submissions not suitable for the general public will not be eligible. PCLS has discretion in deciding what is suitable.
- All entries become the property of the Pasco County Library System and cannot be returned.
