What are the Discovery Gardens?
The New River Discovery Gardens feature a seasonal flower garden, a Florida native plants garden, a butterfly garden, an interactive children’s sensory garden, and a community garden. The library works closely with the County Cooperative Extension and the Florida Master Gardeners to provide a complete gardening resource.
Using the Discovery Gardens
- Attend a class taught by an instructor. Find upcoming classes and activities online at www.pascolibraries.org.

- Come to one of our seasonal plant swaps to share your plant cuttings and discover something new.
- Attend the monthly Garden Club events to learn and share ideas.
- Take a self-guided tour of the various discovery gardens during the library’s hours of operation.
- Speak with a staff member about reserving a plant bed in the community garden.
Requirements
- All work areas and equipment must be cleaned and put away after use.
- Please note a signed liability waiver is required prior to using the plant beds.
- The Discovery Gardens may be used by patrons under the age of 16 when accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
- Patrons who have allergies or other concerns about gardening outdoors should consult a healthcare professional prior to use.
