What are the Discovery Gardens?
The New River Discovery Gardens work closely with the County Cooperative Extension and the Master Gardeners to provide a complete gardening resource, featuring: a seasonal flower garden, a Florida native plants garden, a butterfly garden, an interactive children’s sensory garden, and a community garden.
Using the Discovery Gardens
- Attend a class taught by an instructor. Find upcoming classes and activities online at www.pascolibraries.org.
- Pick up a brochure and take a self-guided tour of the various discovery gardens during the library’s hours of operation.
- Speak with a staff member about reserving a plant bed in the community garden.
- All work areas and equipment must be cleaned and put away after use.
- Please note a signed liability waiver is required prior to using the interactive gardens.
Age Requirements
- The Discovery Gardens may be used by patrons under the age of 16 when accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
- Patrons over the age of 16 may use the Discovery Gardens without a parent or caregiver present.
- Patrons who have allergies or other concerns about gardening outdoors should consult a healthcare professional prior to use.
