What are the Discovery Gardens?

The New River Discovery Gardens work closely with the County Cooperative Extension and the Master Gardeners to provide a complete gardening resource, featuring: a seasonal flower garden, a Florida native plants garden, a butterfly garden, an interactive children’s sensory garden, and a community garden.

 Using the Discovery Gardens

  • Attend a class taught by an instructor. Find upcoming classes and activities online at www.pascolibraries.org.
  • Pick up a brochure and take a self-guided tour of the various discovery gardens during the library’s hours of operation.
  • Speak with a staff member about reserving a plant bed in the community garden.
  • All work areas and equipment must be cleaned and put away after use.
  • Please note a signed liability waiver is required prior to using the interactive gardens.

 Age Requirements

  • The Discovery Gardens may be used by patrons under the age of 16 when accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
  • Patrons over the age of 16 may use the Discovery Gardens without a parent or caregiver present.
  • Patrons who have allergies or other concerns about gardening outdoors should consult a healthcare professional prior to use.
