What is Front Door Books and who can use the service?
Front Door Books is a mail order service for homebound residents, those not able to visit our branches in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and patrons who live far from a library branch. It is a way to have books shipped directly to your residence in Pasco County.
How do I sign up?
Simply fill out the application below or call one of our branches for a staff member to assist you with signing up.
What happens after I fill out the application?
After you fill out an application, please allow 48-72 hours for it to be processed. You will then be contacted by a staff member with your virtual library card number which will allow you to begin requesting materials by mail either online or over the phone. You will receive your physical library card in your first delivery.
How many books can I request at one time?
Currently, we are limiting our front door books service to three (3) items mailed to you at one time. Once we receive your three (3) items back, you may then request three (3) more.
How do I return my books?
Returning your books couldn’t be easier. If you are able, just drop them off at your local branch utilizing many of our drive up or walk up book drops. Deliveries may also be sent back utilizing the included shipping label. Simply repackage your materials and take them to any UPS dropoff location. If you are unable to return by any of these methods, contact the library and we will arrange a pickup with your next shipment.
Will I be charged any late fees?
Pasco County Libraries is a fine-free system; therefore, no overdue fines accrue, but we appreciate return of books in a timely manner. As with all library materials, they are subject to our fines and fees policy.
