Pasco County Libraries will be CLOSED at 12 PM on Tuesday, December 24 and all day on Wednesday, December 25 in Observance of Christmas. The library will reopen at its regular hours Thursday, December 26.
The Hudson Regional Library remains closed until further notice to assist with hurricane recovery efforts.

Position Overview and Impact:

The Adult Literacy tutoring program is currently offered at the New RIver and Hugh Embry Branch Libraries. Tutors will receive a training session, support materials, and staff support. This extremely important service will help members of our community to improve their literacy skills. Tutors can meet with learners in a group or in one-to-one sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend a training session
  • Participate in organizing, setting up, and running Conversation Corner sessions
  • Participate in one-to-one tutoring sessions
  • Commit to one year of service with a flexible schedule

Qualifications:

  • Be 18 yrs of age or older

  • Be a self starter and work without close supervision

  • Interact and communicate successfully with others

  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to advocate on behalf of the library

Training and support provided:

  • Orientation, training session, and support materials
