Position Overview and Impact:
The Adult Literacy tutoring program is currently offered at Hugh Embry Library, Land O'Lakes Library, New River Library, Regency Park Library, Starkey Ranch Library, and Wesley Chapel Library. Tutors will receive a training session, support materials, and staff support. This extremely important service will help members of our community to improve their literacy skills. Tutors can meet with learners in a group or in one-to-one sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend a training session
- Participate in organizing, setting up, and running Conversation Corner sessions
- Participate in one-to-one tutoring sessions
- Commit to one year of service with a flexible schedule
Qualifications:

Be 18 years of age or older

Be a self starter and work without close supervision

Interact and communicate successfully with others
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to advocate on behalf of the library
Training and support provided:
- Orientation, training session, and support materials

- Varies based on your availability and learner needs
