Position Overview and Impact:
Assist the Library staff in keeping the library materials clean and organized. The work involves getting assigned books from the shelf, light cleaning of book covers with a spray bottle of alcohol or detergent and warm water solution. The covers are then rinsed, dried and returned to the shelf.

Physical flexibility and ability to grip objects with hands, stooping, bending, possibly kneeling and sitting on or low to the ground

Carrying materials, but weight would be light

Qualifications:

Sitting for a extended periods of time

Must be able to lift small amounts of books

Cannot be sensitive to alcohol, latex or rubber. Latex and rubber gloves are provided for cleaning items

Must be able to read small print on spine labels for reshelving

Follow through with simple verbal/written instruction from a supervisor
Training and support provided:
- Training, orientation and mentoring is available

- A single ‘two (2) hour shift’ per week
