Position Overview and Impact:
As a program assistant, you will work with library staff to help prepare for programs. Programs are the events and classes the library offers to the community. This includes gathering and prepping supplies, organizing the program area, and breaking down or setting up furniture. During the duration of the program, you will assist staff with the activity and keep the area safe and organized. Following the program, you will help staff clean and put away materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist library staff in the preparation of program materials
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of programs
- Assist patrons as needed with program activities
- Direct or instruct patrons about the program and activities
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and with library staff
- Ability to follow both written and oral directions
- Must be able to lift tables, bend, stoop and carry items
- Must be punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude
